The apartment is actually a holiday home located in Sinaia, with the main and peaceful perspective from the living area, a fir forest. It has 100 square meters and is divided into 2 bedrooms with their own bathrooms and an open space consisting of a living room/dining room/kitchen.

The clients wanted a peaceful and elegant arrangement that would invite relaxation, with a small contemporary winter cottage that would honor the environment in which this apartment is located and that would inspire them and bring them visual peace.

This being the reason why they appeared as an insert in the design, the ash wood beams on the ceiling, the fireplace with wood, the imprint of some leaves (picked from the forests of Sinaia) on the walls treated with decorative paint and the choice of the noble oak wood that is placed in neutral chromatic value chosen for furniture pieces and finishes.

“We wanted to achieve a symbiosis between materials and raw details in contrast with clear and contemporary lines and we felt that it is natural for the finishes to reflect elements from the surrounding nature or even just subtle references to it. Layers of colors, textures and light bring beauty and balance :)”

The apartment is flooded with natural light thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows and the whole arrangement has a gentleness of the powdery white shades, of the knitted textiles and the feeling given by the floor treated with oak wood parquet that invites relaxation.

The dining area has a special elegance due to the lighting fixture made of wood veneer strips placed concentrically in an intriguing shape.

The kitchen is delimited by the living room with a peninsula around which, the chairs with a special height for the island, create an informal feeling.

“We believe that the choice of colors with which we surround ourselves in the space we live in has a very strong impact on our mental state. Colors and the way we use and perceive them can influence our inner state both positively and negatively. A carefully chosen color palette can have a beneficial effect on our health and happiness, evoking feelings of well-being, peace, contentment and calm. Black in a small percentage seems to be injected into the arrangement, through metallic details of the furniture pieces, adds contrast and supports the balanced feeling of cosyness.”
